About NIA
National Investigation Agency is mainly responsible for anti terrorist activities. The need for the formation of NIA was felt just after 26/11 attack at Taj Hotel, Mumbai. This Investigation Agency was mainly formed keeping in the view terrorist activities. NIA is associated with the Ministry of Home Affairs in India.

Step -1
You can’t join NIA after the 12th. To be a member of NIA you must have a graduation or bachelor’s degree from any recognized university.
Step -2
You can either appear in SSC CGL exams or UPSC entrance exams to be an NIA officer.
Step -3
After cracking the UPSC exam and getting the post of IPS or IRS you can easily get transferred to NIA.
Step -4
After cracking the SSC CGL exams, you get the rank of a Sub-Inspector in NIA.
Step -5
In case you are in a law enforcement agency you can easily get the transfer and join NIA.
NIA Recruitment Process in India

Entrance Exam
Nation Investigation Agency (NIA) exams are held by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Civil Service Exam is conducted by UPSC every year. You can be the part of the same.
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) takes charge of Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exams that are held once a year. The exam is conducted in 4 phases that are Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4.
